The New Budweiser

The team was in charge of defining  the new finishes and visual identity for Budweiser’s proprietary bottles in 550ml and 343ml (longneck) volumes. We had to take into account the new shape for sharing size bottles, adapting it to the smaller sizes, and exploting new features that enhanced the brand and bring an increasingly proprietary look.

The result was a combination of new features such as a new label, with a more modern and bolder look & feel, with new materials that is resistent to the moisture. Also new visual elements with the traditional Anheuser Busch seal, printed on the bottle cap, and embossed on the bottle's back.

As part of the industrial design team, we were responsable for adjusting the overall shape of the bottle, translating it to a smaller size. Also we explored different features on the bottle, such as different embosses, lables and caps. We did it mainly through sketching several ideas and mix matching them with eachother.

After deciding on the final design, one of the team members modeled it in a 3D software (Rhinoceros) and had it 3D printed to check all the features sizes and finally have the product in hands.
